Welcome Center
The most recent construction at Mission Springs is our Welcome Center. It is, however, a bit of a misnomer to call this Mission Springs site new, as this location has been a fixture since the early days of the camp. Originally known by the name “Madrone,” the building was one of three original youth dormitories—Laurel and Sequoia were built to house the girls, and Madrone was for the boys. In later years, the building was rechristened “Creekside” and served as a meeting space for camp staff as well as a resource location for housekeeping.
The addition of a second bridge, the entrance point for most conference attendees, made the site a perfect location for a Welcome Center. Though it was unusable for years, the building was recently demolished and rebuilt by leaseholder Sherwood Anderson to house the hospitality arm of Mission Springs. Visitors can find information, camp gifts, and of course a welcome as they arrive and stay at camp.
Prayer
A Prayer of Hospitality and Belonging
Gracious God, as we arrive at this place of welcome, may every heart feel seen, every soul find rest, and every guest know they belong. Let this be a threshold of grace—a space where stories begin, friendships grow, and Your love is made known. Lord, hear our prayer.
Scripture
Hebrews 13:1-2
Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
