Men’s Conference

About

Join us for a weekend of impact, challenge, and fun as we worship, fellowship, and grow in our faith journey. It is guaranteed to bless your soul.

Our hope is that the men at the conference will feel empowered to rise up as husbands, fathers, and men of faith. Despite their feelings, circumstances, or situations, they will seek out God.

This Men’s Conference is our first bilingual event! We will hold services in both Spanish and English, and a communion service on Sunday, bringing everyone together.

Choose Wisely: A Study in Proverbs
In a world filled with noise, pressure, and countless competing voices, the call for men to live with clarity and conviction has never been more urgent. Every day, we are faced with decisions that shape not only our own lives but the lives of our families, our communities, and our legacy. The book of Proverbs speaks directly into this reality, offering timeless wisdom that cuts through confusion and calls us to a higher standard of living. It reminds us that wisdom is not accidental—it is chosen, pursued, and applied.

“Choose Wisely” is more than a conference theme; it is a challenge to become men who lean not on impulse or culture, but on the truth of God’s Word. Proverbs lays out two clear paths—the way of wisdom and the way of folly—and urges us to walk intentionally, guarding our hearts, guiding our words, and leading with integrity. As we gather, we will explore what it means to fear the Lord, to seek understanding, and to live with purpose. This is an invitation to step up, to sharpen one another, and to become men who make choices today that honor God and impact generations tomorrow.

    Pastor Marco Ambriz

Marco has faithfully served on the pastoral staff at First Covenant Church of Oakland (FCC) since 2004. The son of Mexican and Nicaraguan immigrants, he was raised as a pastor’s kid, worship leader, and preacher within Latino Pentecostal churches across Texas, Louisiana, and California. Before joining FCC, Marco also served for several years as a pastor at a Korean Presbyterian church, gaining a rich, cross-cultural ministry experience.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Studies from Patten University and a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. Marco is passionate about the local church, serving as both a leader and teacher who helps people hear God in fresh and meaningful ways. He works closely with church staff and leadership to cast vision, develop leaders, and disciple the congregation.

Marco and his wife, Nicole, along with their teenage children, love calling Oakland home. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, sports, playing music, reading, and occasionally roasting coffee in his backyard.

    Pastor Abraham Bejarano

Originally from Venezuela and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, Pastor Abraham has over 30 years of invaluable experience in pastoral ministry.

His work has been characterized by deep, consistent service to the community, vigorous support for pastors and congregations, and excellence as a counselor for those going through spiritual and family crises.

He is distinguished by his unwavering passion for cultural diversity. In a fragmented world, his vision has always been to build solid bridges between different communities, cultures, and languages to genuinely unite them under the reconciling purpose of Christ.
