Ocean View

Indeed, every camp has those spots that become synonymous with summer love and trysting. At Mission Springs, one popular spot was Ocean View, which provided a respite from the arduous “walk around the mountain” for couples looking for some moments alone. One popular explanation for a walk through the trees was to go and watch “the submarine races.”  Though trees and brush have grown to mask the area, the location was one of the places at camp where you could see the ocean, hence the moniker “Ocean View.”  

There are stories aplenty about infamous walks around the mountain, but how many have recounted their experience at Ocean View? We’ll never tell.

Prayer of God’s Love

God of vast love, as we gaze upon the horizon, remind us of Your boundless grace. Let every wave speak of Your mercy, and every breeze whisper Your affection. Teach us to walk in love, just as Christ loved us. Lord, hear our prayer.
