Mission Woods
Before the advent of Frontier Ranch, Mission Springs envisioned a part of the flat specifically designated for youth camps. During the early 1950s, Mission Springs purchased property north of the camp that came to be known as “Mission Woods.” In 1961, with the financial support of area Covenant churches, housing units were constructed below the swimming pool to accommodate campers and counselors, fittingly named Oak, Hemlock, Fir, and Pine. Since construction, they have provided lodging for families, churches, and Outdoor education students who are visiting Mission Springs for renewal and learning. Their occupancy has long been a sign of great things happening at camp, whether it is a trail of campers half-awake walking to the dining hall for breakfast or a glimpse of a brown Volkswagen bus letting high schoolers know that Joe and Penny Nokes were ready to lead CFC activities for teens.
Prayer
Prayer of Renewal
Creator God, in the stillness of these woods, renew our minds and restore our spirits. Transform us by Your truth. May this sacred space be a sanctuary of peace, reflection, and holy renewal. Lord, hear our prayer.
Scripture
Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing , and perfect will.
