Old Tabernacle
The Mission Springs Tabernacle was constructed in 1930 when Redwood Circle, the original gathering site for visitors, proved too steep to climb and too chilly for evening meetings. For nearly four decades, it served as the central indoor worship space for the camp until high attendance numbers made it difficult to house everyone in the space. With the construction of the “New Tabernacle” in 1964, the building was renamed the “Old Tabernacle,” or the “Old Tab” for short, and remodeled to provide a crucial indoor space for smaller worship services, meetings, children’s activities, indoor sports, and other year-round group activities. It may be best known as the home base of the “Banana Slugs,” the children’s programming for the Covenant Family Conference.
Prayer
A Prayer for Understanding God’s Will
Father, in this place of teaching and reflection, help us seek first Your kingdom. Teach us to trust You with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding. May Your will be known here, and Your voice heard clearly. Lord, hear our prayer.
Scripture
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
