Covenant Family Camp, will not be operating in the same model as it has in the past years due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. We are working hard to reimagine what it could look like. We are committed to making some form of camp happen for as many families as possible while staying within the guidelines set by the state and county.
What could family camp look like this summer?
Mission Springs leaseholders will be able to pick up to-go meals, enjoy virtual events, and may be able to participate in some CFC traditions in a new socially distanced way as a part of a cabin to cabin style family camp.
Families that live outside the Mission Springs community will be able to stream messages and download prepared activity books to take part in an at-home style family camp.
What about the 4th of July?
There are so many great Independence Day traditions that take place during CFC. We are currently brainstorming ways that you can participate in as many as possible.
- We will be live-streaming the July 4th Cathedral Grove worship service for all to enjoy.
- Changing the route of the parade that usually makes its way through the conference center to include the housing communities so that the parade could be viewed from your own porch or window.
- Stagger starting the Mountain Goat Run in order to socially distance our participants.
What about social distancing?
Of course, the health and safety of your families and our staff are of the utmost importance! These options are entirely dependent on the social gathering guidelines set forth by the county and state. Know that we, as a camp, will also be implementing new health and safety practices to protect each family and the surrounding community. New policies mean certain activities, as well as day-to-day schedules, will look different. Please prepare yourself and your family for a distinct camp experience from years past.
What does this mean for other Mission Springs programs?
Our summer camp, Frontier Ranch, for 4th-12th grade campers, is also shifting to a new model. We will be moving to a Monday through Friday day camp program for 3rd – 8th-grade Santa Cruz County working families.
Our high school camp, Frontier Ranch Santa Barbara, will be canceled and rescheduled for 2021.
If you registered for either of those programs, please fill out the corresponding forms below or check out their info page here.
What do we need to do now?
We will be canceling all current registrations for Covenant Family Camp. You will need to let us know how we can handle your registration fees. We look forward to seeing you the next time you are at Mission Springs!
