I first fell in love with Mission Springs and camp ministry the summer of 2003 while working at Wild Oak. I returned for two more summers at Wild Oak while finishing up my Education degree at Trinity Western University in British Columbia, Canada. I next found myself as a Naturalist with Mission Springs Outdoor Education for the 2005/6 & 2006/7 seasons. It was then time to spread my wings, stop teaching kids that bats are birds, and expand my experiences - so why not go to the other side of the world to New Zealand?! I served as the Education and Activities Manager at Carey Park Christian Camp from 2007-2009. I had an amazing time immersed in Kiwi culture - eating meat pies, saying words like ‘kia ora’ ‘sweetas’ ‘lollies’ ‘togs’, and watching rugby. But, the Lord brought me back to Mission Springs where I now find myself hanging out in trees as our Adventure Programs Coordinator, and stoked for summer camps as the Frontier Ranch Assistant Director. It’s great to be home at Mission Springs, back in the surf, and running among the Redwoods. | ||
