Approximately 250 Leaseholders, residents, staff, and Lockhart Gulch neighbors came out for hamburgers, hot dogs, and live music to celebrate the completion of the new entrance bridge construction. The celebration took place right after Thanksgiving, but the bridge wasn't officially opened and in use until several weeks later after all of the County approvals were in place.
The new entrance bridge is located 270 yards beyond the original bridge. Entering over this new bridge will put you into the Laurel Lodge parking lot. New signage and lighting will be forthcoming in the months ahead. Mission Springs was given an 18 month use extension on the original bridge by the County. This means that Mission Springs will be able to keep the original bridge open for use until June 2010, as a single lane bridge, while we prepare and plan for the replacement of the wooden structure. The original entrance will continue to be an important access point for Mission Springs in the future. The current plan is to replace the original bridge with a steel and concrete bridge similar to the one just built. MORE>> |
