Overview

8 to 10 Weeks of Employment

Several positions are needed from June 7 to mid August. All staff are needed from June 14 through August 15. Conflicting school schedules can be accommodated in some cases. Campers range from ages 8-13.

Everyone has the opportunity to be involved with kids and the program.  Everyone will have the option to get involved with evangelism, skits, song leading, camp-outs, and bunking with cabin groups as time permits. We like to have as many of our staff as possible certified in CPR and Standard First Aid.

Instructors' responsibilities will also include: limited maintenance responsibilities, assisting in evening program, assisting in recreation and games, supervising LIT's (High School students), and serving where needed. CPR and First Aid training is required for most instructor positions.


 
Positions Available

COUNSELORS: All positions filled.

(18 female positions, 15 male positions - Must be at least 19 years old or entering second year of college) Counselors are responsible to lead a group of eight campers each week through an outstanding program which includes building deep relationships, leading Bible studies, one-on-one interaction, recreational activities, and much more. Needs to be an enthusiastic leader, sensitive listener, positive role model, and friend to every kid in the cabin. Must possess a mature and active faith in Christ and feel compelled to share that with campers through regular cabin devotions, small group discussion times, and one-on-one interaction. Need to have a love for, as well as significant experience, working with elementary and/or junior high youth. Must have a willingness to work alongside our high school Leaders-in-Training. Must be in good health and be prepared for a physically and emotionally challenging summer. Counselors will not counsel more than three weeks straight after which they will have a week without a cabin group, and their responsibilities will include recreation, maintenance, and program/activity related tasks. TEAM COUNSELORS: Positions filled.

(2 males, 2 females - college graduate desired) This position is part of the leadership team that helps in making camp-wide decisions and in the general running of camp in addition to: Provide support, encouragement, personal counseling, and spiritual leadership for counselors, instructors, and support staff. Meet regularly with counselors, instructors, and support staff for support and encouragement. Help the Director and Staff Coordinator organize and run daily staff devotions as well as plan and run occasional summer staff weekend events. Limited camp program responsibilities. Must have a heart for servant leadership, be patient, flexible, emotionally strong, have solid biblical background. Leadership experience with college students, peer counseling skills, and deep love for Christ a must. Previous camp counseling experience desired. PROGRAM TEAM: Positions filled.

(2 positions - college graduates desired) Work with Camp Director and Assistant Director to successfully run our morning chapel programs and evening campfire program. Provide leadership in the organization and flow of these daily meetings including theme implementation, skit organization, staff involvement, and spiritual focus throughout camp. Provide leadership in daily camp announcements, run daily program meetings for delegation of staff duties, and provide support to Activities Coordinator in the smooth running of camp games and recreation. Must have creative programming experience with elementary and/or junior high students, positive leadership experience with college students, and good ideas for skits and drama. Must be a detail oriented person, willing to take charge, organized and decisive, flexible, possess good communication skills, and a good sense of humor. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT: Position filled.

(At least 21 years old or entering junior or senior year in college desired) Responsible to help Camp Registrar and Camp Director with camper registrations, financial records, camper money packets, camper awards, camper reports, lost & found, camp photos and videos, and correspondence between parents and churches. Work with the Camp Director in preparing for camp details each week. Keep a running spreadsheet budget of summer expenditures. Provide administrative support for youth camps. PROGRAM ASSISTANT: Position filled.

(At least 21 years old or entering junior or senior year in college desired) Provide logistical and organizational support for all aspects of the camp program. Coordinate activity staffing (scheduling), cabin assignments, opening and closing day assignments, daily camper schedules and activity schedules. Provide logistical and administrative support for our morning chapel and evening campfire programs. Must be detail oriented, organized, decisive, a self starter, and willing to work behind the scenes. Must have desire to work with children and college-age students, have strong computer skills, excel at delegation, and have an eye for detail. Apply Now!

ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR: Position filled.

(At least 21 yrs. old desired. PE or Recreation major desired) This position is part of the leadership team that helps in making camp-wide decisions and in the general running of camp in addition to: Running an outstanding, creative recreation program for 200+ Elementary or Jr. High campers. You will coordinate staff to help you run the Junior High recreation program including game explanation, motivation for team competition, and team point records. Run all evening recreation and games. Must be a team player, organized, able to delegate, a self-starter, skilled in large group facilitation, have good communication skills, and be able to get kids excited about recreation. Responsible for cleaning and upkeep of all recreation and activity equipment, as well as keeping accurate records of equipment for replacement and repair. Apply Now!

LIT COORDINATORS: Positions filled.

(1 male and 1 female – college graduate desired) This position is part of the leadership team that helps in making camp-wide decisions and in the general running of camp in addition to: Organize, supervise, and facilitate our team of high school LIT’s (Leaders in Training). Provide discipleship, support, encouragement, personal counseling, and spiritual leadership as well as lead Bible Studies with LIT’s. Work with counselors and other staff to maximize the training and development of the LIT's. Share some responsibilities with program and leadership team. Work alongside LIT’s in weekly housekeeping and work responsibilities to teach servant leadership. Must be motivated and work well with others. Must have significant leadership experience with high schoolers and be willing to lead by example. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record necessary. Apply Now!

NURSING TEAM: Positions filled.

Registered Nurse (Age 21 or older preferred, with a valid driver's license and clean driving record) Responsible for camper and staff health and safety. Attend to all illness and injury and refer to local doctors when necessary. Administer prescription drugs, keep journal records, maintain infirmary, and transport campers to the clinic. First Aid and CPR certification required. Must relate well to campers and parents.

Health Aid(Age 21 or older preferred, with a valid driver's license and clean driving record) Assist the RN in all of the following responsibilities:

WORSHIP LEADER: Position filled.

(21 yrs. old desired) PLEASE NOTE: If you are interested in helping lead worship, please indicate that on your application. However, our worship leader must also fill another camp role. So please indicate on the application what other jobs you'd like to do.

WORSHIP LEADER JOB DESCRIPTION: Choose and lead a variety of songs for our morning and evening chapel services. Must have the ability to lead large groups of youth in music and have excellent accompanying skills on the guitar. Be able to explain what worship is and why we do it. Will also fill one of the other staff roles such as an instructor, support staff or part of the leadership team. MINI BIKE INSTRUCTOR: Positions filled.

(2 positions- Must be at least 19 years old or entering second year of college) Organize and run safe Yamaha mini bike program. This includes providing daily instruction, track grooming as well as equipment maintenance (Eight (8) Yamaha TT-R50E). Ensure safe facility use and instruct other staff in how to best assist you. You'll also be providing routine maintenance for our eight (8) Diggler mountain scooters. Plus, you'll participate in and assist with other aspects of the Frontier Ranch program including recreation, morning chapel times and evening campfire programs. Must be extremely patient and able to teach kids effectively. Must be enthusiastic about trail bikes and use the event to enhance camper skills, build confidence, and teach them about God. CHALLENGE COURSE TEAM: Positions filled.

(6 positions- Must be at least 19 years old or entering second year of college) Maintain, operate, and insure the safe use of all challenge activities (challenge course, zip line, flying squirrel, and climbing tower). Maintain and inspect equipment. Train and supervise staff members to assist and belay activities. Need to be a problem-solver, organized, have common sense, and work well as a part of a team. Need to be encouraging and able to build campers' confidence in order to teach them about themselves, others, and faith in Christ. No prior experience needed, but must have an interest in adventure activities including rock climbing, challenge course events, and group dynamics. You will also participate in other aspects of the Frontier Ranch program including assisting with recreation, games, and activities. Team will undergo extensive training and be certified by the Adventure Programs Coordinator. Minimum First Aid certifications and CPR certification required. One of the positions will be a Lead Challenge Course instructor who will have some extra responsibilities.

RANCHER: Position filled.

(1 position- Must be at least 19 years old or entering second year of college) Responsible for conducting a hands-on, safe Ranching program with farm animals (goats, pigs, donkey, chickens, ducks, snakes, kittens, and rabbits) that teach kids how to handle and care for them. Maintain facilities and barn area. Manage feeding program, provide health and veterinary care for all animals. A heart for animals as well as knowledge and experience in caring for them essential. AUDIO TECH: Position filled.

(1 position- Must be at least 19 years old or entering second year of college)

PLEASE NOTE: If you are interested in doing sound, please indicate that on your application. However, our audio tech must also fill another camp role (similar to the worship leader position). So please indicate on the application what other jobs you'd like to do.

Audio Tech Job Description: Responsible for running sound and lights for evening campfire program. Work with the Program Team to create a successful evening program including music selection, flow and pace, etc. Set up and tear down sound equipment for most program activities. Maintain all audio equipment including cleaning and repair. Will also fill one of the other staff roles such as an instructor, support staff or part of the leadership team. Will also need to fulfill other responsibilities, as needed, including: recreation, ranching, and program events.Apply Now!

VIDEO TECH: Position filled.

(21 years old or entering junior or senior year in college desired) Shoot video throughout each week of camp and edit raw footage down into a 10-15 minute, action-packed, camper video to be sold at the end of each week. Maintain all video equipment including cleaning and repair. Must have significant related experience including good video shooting and non-linear editing skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to work well in pressure situations. CRAFT INSTRUCTOR: Position filled.

(1 position- Must be at least 19 years old or entering second year of college)

In charge of designing an age appropriate craft program for campers.  Responsible for ordering equipment and supplies, instructing crafts to campers, and keeping the craft area cleaned and stocked.  Responsible for setting a price structure for the various crafts and collecting money from campers as they purchase crafts.  Will also need to fulfill other responsibilities, as needed, including: recreation, ranching, and program events. LEADER-IN-TRAINING (LIT): Now accepting applications for 2009!

40 positions - (Must be 16 by June 1 or entering junior year of high school) Our goal is to develop leaders through service, ministry and an intentional community. Must be able to commit to at least 3 consecutive weeks of camp. Responsibilities include: helping with camper activities and recreation, food service duties, as well as assisting counselors in cabins. This is a volunteer position that requires raising support.
